Bitumastic mastic material
BITUMASTIC IS A BITUMINOUS ELASTOMERIC MASTIC MATERIAL USED TO SEAL SURFACES OVER A WIDE TEMPERATURE RANGE.
BITUMEN ELASTOMERIC MASTIC
SCOPE OF APPLICATION
Waterproofing for:
protection of external walls (including on the old coil coating); concrete bases; bathrooms and showers (with subsequent laying of tiles); balconies and terraces (with subsequent laying of tiles); internal premises (wet areas, bathrooms, basements).
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Bitumastic is a bituminous elastomeric mastic material used to seal surfaces over a wide temperature range.
Bitumastic is a brown paste-like substance applied cold by brush, brush or mechanized airless spraying machine. It is applied by a cold method, non-toxic, non-flammable. The mastic is easily applied on vertical surfaces, it does not drip.
It is used for waterproofing protection of exterior walls (including on the old roll coating) and concrete bases, bathrooms and terraces with subsequent laying of porcelain tiles.

Liquid rubber Bitumastic is a bituminous elastomeric mastic material used for sealing surfaces in a wide temperature range. It is applied by cold method, non-toxic, non-flammable. Mastic is easily applied on vertical surfaces, does not flow.It is used for waterproofing protection of external walls (including on the old roll coating) and concrete bases, bathrooms and terraces with subsequent laying of porcelain tiles.
RULES OF USE AND STORAGE
Before applying, thoroughly clean the surface of dirt. The joints between the floor and the walls should be rounded (fillet).
General Provisions. Do not store at temperatures below +5°C. The surface must be dry before applying Bitumastic. The product is ready for application. In case it is slightly thickened, stir by hand or mechanically. Apply with a brush or roller. Immediately after application, rinse tools with water, then with turpentine. Do not apply product to exterior vertical surfaces if precipitation is forecast for the next 12 hours. If it is necessary to screed directly on top of the Bitumastic waterproofing, lay a 0.2 mm polyethylene film in two layers after the last layer of Bitumastic has completely dried.
1. Waterproofing of exterior walls without removing the old coil coating:
(a) If polymer-bitumen coil material has been placed on the vertical wall surface, it should be melted down to remove dirt and soften the bitumen.
(b) Next, apply MastigumPrimerc at a rate of 250-300 g/m2 and allow to soak for 30-60 minutes.
(c) Apply Bitumastic at a total flow rate of 3-4.5 kg/m² depending on the waterlogging level of the area or the level of the foundation.
The manufacturer recommends applying Bitumastic in 3 layers, drying time of each layer 3-4 hours at +20 ° C.
Even if Bitumastic is applied mechanically, it is recommended that the first layer be brushed on vigorously to prevent the formation of "bubbles" after all layers of Bitumastic have been applied. The time to fully stabilize all layers of waterproofing is 48-72 hours.
(d) Lay a 200 g/m2 geotextile with a 5-7% overlap and then a 0.5-1.0 mm HPDE geomembrane before backfilling. Alternatively a profiled membrane combined with geotextile can be used.
2. Waterproofing of bathrooms and showers (followed by tiling):
(a) Apply Mastigum Primer at a rate of 300 g/m2 before the first coat. Drying time 1-3 hours.
(b) Spray/apply the 1st coat of Bitumastic at a rate of 1.5 kg/m2. The curing time of the 1st coat is 6-8 hours.
(c) Spray/apply a second coat of Bitumastic at a rate of 1.5 kg/m2.
Total amount of applied material 3.0 kg/m2. Drying time 24 hours at +-20°C.
(d) Lay tiles directly on top of the top waterproofing layer to ensure that all layers adhere to each other and to the substrate.
3. Waterproofing of balconies and terraces (with subsequent tiling):
a) Apply Mastigum Primer at a rate of 300 g/m2 before the first coat. Drying time-1-3 hours.
(b) Spray/apply the 1st coat of Bitumastic at a rate of 1.5 kg/m2. The curing time of the 1st coat is 6-8 hours.
(c) Spray/apply a second coat of Bitumastic at a rate of 1.5 kg/m2.
Drying time 12 hours at +-20°C.
(d) Spray/apply a third coat of Bitumastic at a rate of 1.5 kg/m2.
Total amount of applied material 4.5 kg/m2. Drying time 48-72 hours at +-20 ° C with protection from atmospheric precipitation.
(e) If the patio area is 15 sq. m. or larger, for better protection lay a polyester fabric immediately after applying a second coat of Bitumastic.
(f) Lay tiles directly on top of the top waterproofing layer to ensure that all layers adhere to each other and to the substrate.
